Helping to improve traveler safety, Mactac has launched hotel security seals. Intended for adhesion to the outside of hotel room doors, the security closure labels are designed to create a temporary seal between door and door frame.

The security seal is placed following the cleaning of a hotel room, indicating to future guests that a room hasn’t been accessed since it was cleaned and sanitized.

Proprietary research from Hilton reveals that three of the top four actions a hotel can take to make guests feel safe are centered on additional cleaning. The international hotel chain recently announced its implementation of the Hilton CleanStay Room Seal.

Mactac’s security seals feature a non-residue removable acrylic adhesive. When the label is removed, a concealed “VOID” image becomes visible on the facestock, yet no adhesive residue is left on the application surface. If the VOID lettering is present, travelers will know a room has been accessed, providing a clear indication of attempted tampering. It also prevents the re-use and re-application of labels.

The facestock used on Mactac’s security closure labels is a 1.5-mil top-coated gloss polyester film, available in clear, red or blue. It touts excellent printability via flexography and thermal transfer printers.

The label construction also features a 60# blue glassine liner, in which one side is polyethylene laminated. The liner is coated with a release system designed for label dispensing and is excellent for die cutting and stripping.
